A young man is wearing a shirt Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) was secured by the police because he was caught carrying a slingshot when he was about to demonstrate at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta. What is the FPI’s response?
“FPI shirts are sold freely everywhere, FPI members have membership cards,” FPI spokesman Slamet Maarif told reporters, Tuesday (13/10/2020).
Slamet said FPI did not instruct its members to carry dangerous tools during the demonstration. Moreover, a slingshot like the one carried by that young man.
“Crazy times, yes REIT already What crazy order to carry the slingshot? No, “said Slamet.
He also said that the FPI legal team would check whether the youth was an FPI member or not. He also questioned the FPI shirt the young man was wearing because it looked new.
“There is a legal person who will take care of it, just look at the new T-shirt, looks like I just bought it,” he said.
Previously, a young man was arrested by the police when he was about to demonstrate at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta. From the young man’s bag was found a slingshot.
Monitoring detikcom, Tuesday (13/10) at 09.25 WIB, a young man wearing the attributes of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) was seen by the police at the Monas Security Post. Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Nana Sudjana then interrogated the young man.
The police secured a slingshot from the young man’s bag. Several pieces of evidence in the form of a slingshot and the identity of the victim were then secured by the police. The young man was then taken to a detention car headed for Polda Metro Jaya.
