Youth for climate: if not us, then who?

For Generation Z, climate change has become a personal concern. In the short time they have spent on this earth, they have already experienced the worst environmental destruction. Add to that the pandemic and war: young people are currently paying a heavy emotional toll.

It’s no wonder, then, that 76 percent of young people see climate change as one of society’s biggest issues, according to a 2021 study by Pew Research. On the other hand, the climate initiative Fridays For Future wants to do something now – at least in the USA. The Fred & Farid campaign in Los Angeles uses a mechanism that is as simple as it is ingenious.
