The anniversary year will be special and rich in adventures. The choir’s current conductors Laura Elizabete Godiņa, Nauris Indzeris and Ints Teterovskis have prepared a rich season full of musical peaks. The first one will take place in Ile in early July Balsu festival will continue in August Voices of Lielupe – musical tour, several new choral music recordings will be released in autumn, Valta Pūce will be played in November For votes dedicated new program.
The first anniversary concerts will take place in April under the slogan To infinity! – April 8 at 19.00 in Ventspils Concert Hall Latvia and on April 23 at 19.00 at the Latgale Embassy Gors.
The concerts will take place in two parts. The first part will feature Andris Sējana in 2021 For votes dedicated song cycle About flowers. The cycle has not been played to the public yet, it just sounded in the empty pavilion of Āgenskalns market for online listeners. The sharp and truly emotional poetry of Vizma Belševica’s music reveals a dynamic and saturated. The first part will be performed by the actress of the Latvian National Theater Dita Lūriņa, who will speak in the words of the poet and sing in the choir.
The second part of the concert – Philip Glass cycle Songs From Liquid Days for choir, soloists, instrumental ensemble, organ. Balsu In the performance of the cycle has been brilliantly heard in unusual concert venues in Riga – near Bieriņi, RMMT, now it will be performed on the concert hall stages. The authors of the words are Paul Simon, the avant-garde of pop music in the 1980s (Paul Simon) Suzana Vega (Suzanne Vega), David Child (David Byrne) and Lory Anderson (Laurie Anderson). The concert will be a rare opportunity to hear the tenor of chief conductor Mārtiņš Klišāns and the soprano of the young, brilliant opera soloist Viktorija Pakalniece.
The RKTMC Small Guild will deliver sign language on April 10 at 4 p.m. In the spring of 2022, 11 chord song visualizationsadapted for the hearing impaired. The concert will feature all these songs, which will be supplemented with melodic reclamations by Elza Weismane. The current choir will sing and also the former singers – All Voices. The oldest will conduct Balsu conductors – Agita Ikauniece-Rimšēviča (10 years) and Ints Teterovskis (24 years). Both conductors will be the chief conductors of the 2023 Song Festival, so the choir songs entrusted to them will also be played.
