Youssef Al-Nusairi leads Sevilla to semi-finals with stunning hat-trick against Manchester United

Moroccan striker Youssef Al-Nusairi led Sevilla to qualify for the semi-finals of the European Football League, by scoring two goals as part of a hat-trick that the Spanish team won at home to Manchester United in the second leg of the quarter-finals.

Seville scored a landslide victory over United, after last week’s first-leg match in Manchester ended with an exciting 2-2 draw, to continue his career in the tournament, which holds the record for the number of times crowned.

Al-Nusairi opened the scoring in the eighth minute, taking advantage of a fatal mistake committed by Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, so that Argentine Eric Lamela snatched the ball and passed it to the Moroccan striker, who scored.

French defender Luik Badi added two minutes after the start of the second half with a header, after a corner kick by Croatian Ivan Rakitic.

In the 81st minute, Al-Nusairi added his second goal and the third for Seville, after a fatal gag by Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea in passing the ball, so the striker cleverly shot it from outside the penalty area.

Juventus, in turn, qualified for the semi-finals, despite its 1-1 draw at home with Sporting Lisbon, benefiting from its victory in the first leg with a goal without a response.

Frenchman Adrien Rabiot scored Juventus’ goal in the ninth minute, before Marcus Edwards equalized for Lisbon in the 20th minute from a penalty kick.

The Italian Roma also reached the semi-finals by defeating its Dutch guest Feyenoord Rotterdam 4-1 after extending it for two additional halves, after the end of the match with the “Giallorossi” advancing 2-1, so that the Kaftans tied after the return match ended with Feyenoord winning 1-0.

Leonardo Spinazzola scored Roma’s first goal in the 60th minute, then Igor Baixao equalized for Feyenoord in the 80th minute, before Paulo Dybala scored the second goal for Roma in the 89th minute, sparing his team exit from the tournament and forcing two more halves.

Stephan El Shaarawy and Lorenzo Pellegrini scored two goals for Roma in the 101st and 109th minutes, ensuring that Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho’s team qualified for the semi-finals.

In turn, Germany’s Bayer Leverkusen reached the semi-finals after beating its Belgian host Saint-Gloise 4-1, noting that the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.

Moussa Diaby, Michel Bakker, Jeremy Frimpong and Adam Hlozik scored the quadruple for Leverkusen in the 2nd, 38th, 60th and 79th minutes, while Casper Terho scored the only goal for Gliwaz in the 64th minute.

Sevilla will play Juventus and Roma against Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-finals on May 11 and 18.
