How did attending the Elie Saab fashion show while missing the Cairo Film Festival opening ceremony impact Yousra’s experience in representing Arab cinema?
Good afternoon! Thank you for taking the time to do this interview with us today. We have some incredible photos from the dinner party hosted by Yousra and would love to discuss the event with you.
First off, can you tell us about your experience at the dinner party? Did you have the opportunity to meet and chat with other guests? What were some of the highlights of the evening for you?
[Elham Shaheen] Yes, of course! The dinner party was absolutely wonderful. It was such an honor to be invited by Yousra. I got to meet and chat with many other stars, including Chico and Nour El Nabawy. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very festive. It was great to catch up with old friends and make new connections in the industry. One of the highlights of the evening for me was seeing Yousra and her husband, Khaled Selim, looking so happy and enjoying themselves.
[Chico] I completely agree. I had a fantastic time at the dinner party. The company was excellent, and I got to hear so many interesting stories from my fellow guests. I was particularly excited to see Yousra looking so radiant. To be honest, I think the best part of the evening was when we all gathered for photos—it was like a grand family reunion in the middle of the busy festival.
Moving on to the Cairo Film Festival, Yousra unfortunately missed the opening ceremony due to her attendance at the Elie Saab fashion show in Saudi Arabia. Can you tell us a bit about your experience at that event? How did it feel to represent Arab cinema during this important occasion?
[Yousra] Yes, I was really sad to miss the opening ceremony of the Cairo Film Festival, but the Elie Saab show was such an incredible opportunity. It was a truly international affair with stars from all over the Arab world coming together. It felt great to be part of such a significant moment for fashion and culture. Amr Diab, Ahmed Helmy, and Tareq Al-Erian were all there, so it was like a reunion of sorts. The performances and designs were breathtaking, and I’m grateful to have been a part of it.
[Amr Diab] I completely understand why Yousra couldn’t attend the opening ceremony.
