You’re never too old for heroes

Time and again, female authors of books for young adults switch to literature for adults. Successful examples are the US author Veronica Roth and the German Eva Siegmund. ✒

No one less than JK Rowling has shown how a successful children’s and youth author can also write exciting adult books. The Harry Potter inventor has great success under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith with her character of the war-disabled private detective Cormoran Strike (most recently “Bad Blood”, discussed at this point a week ago in the “Presse am Sonntag”). And the Austrian Ursula Poznanski, who has just won the Leo Perutz crime prize for the second part of her “Vanitas” series, can look back on a successful history as a young adult author. She was best known for her “Erebos” novels, the second part of which was on the bestseller lists for weeks last year.
