MOSCOW, KOMPAS.TV Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday (21/12/2021) threatened to consider a military response if the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the United States (US) were aggressive.

“What they (the US and NATO) are doing on the territory of Ukraine, it’s not thousands of kilometers from here, but it’s at our doorstep,” Putin said, referring to US support for Kiev, quoted from the statement. Associated Press.

“If US and NATO missile weapons systems appear in Ukraine, it will only take a few minutes for the missiles to reach Moscow,” he added.

“For us, it represents the most serious challenge to our security.”

For this reason, Putin urges NATO to seek long-term legally binding “security guarantees” against deploying weapons on Ukrainian soil. Also, it does not expand its influence to Central and Eastern Europe by accepting Ukraine as a new NATO member.
