This weekend, see you on the 15thmyself edition of the show history of reading meet historians, authors and works as surprising as they are fascinating. 180 authors await you for book presentations, debates and author coffees. Come and read them and discover the publications supported by the Minister!
History of reading… what?
Created in 2008 by the homonymous association, the salon history of reading is the unmissable meeting place for lovers of history books. More than a literary fair, it is an appointment for history and its current events. Young and old will therefore be able to find a wide variety of historical writings and stories: novels, essays, comics, biographies, monographs… The little ones will also have their own space!
The Department of Memory, Culture and Archives (DMCA) of the Ministry of the Armed Forces, which has supported several publications presented on this occasion, will be present to welcome you in a dedicated stand. There will also be some DMCA supported authors to chat with you.
The program of the show
history of reading, there are also autograph sessions, a rich program of conferences, debates, exhibitions and the presentation of the Youtubeurs d’Histoire Prize. You will also be able to meet the authors and chat with them.
Three conferences will be organized around the co-editions supported by the DMCA:
– “Free words: the other fronts”: Saturday 19 November, 2.30 pm, in the council room of the Hôtel du Departement. Debate moderated by Malik Henni between Claude Qutel (author of World War II seen from the other sideBuchet-Castel) and Jean Lopez (author of Kharchov 1942, Arms Minister/Perrin)
– “History in bubbles: an inviolable machine!”: Sunday 20 November, 3.30 pm, Town Hall. Meeting conducted by Patrice Olech with Fabien Tillon, author of Who is an Enigma cass?Minister of Arms / New World Editions)
– “Free words: Marignan, this time the war is changing”: Sunday 20 November, 4.30pm, in the Council Room of the Hôtel du Departement. Debate moderated by François-Guillaume Lorrain (Le Point) between Yves de Chazournes (author of Bayard, the forgotten knightFayard) and Didier Le Fur (author of The Italian wars, a European conflict (Ministry of Arms / Composite Passages)

In partnership with private publishing houses, the Department of Memory, Culture and Archives (DMCA) pursues an active publishing policy. It publishes about fifteen books a year, around five axes: promoting the heritage of the Minister of Armies, supporting military history research, supporting commemorative reporting, being interested in the European and world history of conflicts, addressing young people.
