Your electricity bill will be much lower. Put an item in the freezer and you’ll save a lot

The times prevailing right now are truly unforgiving to many of us. Due to the rising prices of both food and energy, we are forced to save. We save mainly on heat and, later, on food. For this reason, you could definitely come in handy with tips that will help you save a few kroner.

Whoever saves takes three

To save energy, first of all, buy energy-saving LED bulbs and always illuminate only the room in which you are. It may sound cliché, but many people, for example, go to the toilet, which leads through the kitchen and the corridor. The lights go on everywhere and as soon as you come back, only the bathroom, the corridor and the kitchen go out.

It could easily be otherwise. You can have a living room connected to the kitchen and you can light in both rooms. But why if you only sit in one?

The same goes for your computer: turn it off, unplug your laptop charger and get an extension cord with a switch to plug all your appliances into: TV, home theater, desktop computer, even your microwave, and as soon as you go to bed or go to the work, press the button and turn everything off. If this step is not taken, appliances will continue to draw electricity, albeit at a much slower rate. Thanks to this step, you can save several thousand a year.

Full drawers

But now to the drawers mentioned. It is true that there is a connection between filling up your freezer and consuming it. Perhaps this is an amazing fact, but the fuller it is, the cheaper it works. But you certainly don’t have to freeze everything right away and go crazy. If you have supplies in the freezer commensurate with your needs, there is another way you can help yourself. Simply place Styrofoam or an ice chest in the freezer to fill in the empty space.

And why do it anyway? Because every time you open the freezer, warm air from the room enters it. And if the freezer is half empty, more heat enters, so it has to work harder. Definitely worth saving, because no one wants to overpay. Be sure to check window seals as well.
