Barcelona –
Iker Casillas and Gerard Pique teasing each other. The former Barcelona defender was teased about the match against Chelsea in the 2008/2009 Champions League semifinals.
It happened when Casillas and Pique were in the Kings League program, a competition formed by Pique. In the discussion session, the two of them teased each other.
Initially, Pique referred to former referee Cesar Muniz Fernandez. The referee gave Real Madrid a penalty against El Che in the 2012/2013 season.
Pepe did a dive, and the referee gave a penalty. Madrid ended up winning 2-1 in that match.
“It’s one of the most embarrassing of historic Madrid, for one,” he joked Gerard Pique.
Casillas apparently reciprocated. He then referred to Pique’s match in the Champions League semifinals in the 2008/2009 season.
In that match, especially in the second leg, Chelsea drew with Barcelona 1-1 at Stamford Bridge. However, the Blues have a chance to win in that match.
Referee Tom Henning Ovrebo several times made decisions that were detrimental to Chelsea. Among them was Samuel Eto’o’s handball which was ignored. The Chelsea player was annoyed and said the referee robbed him of his victory, because Barcelona finally escaped on an aggregate of away goals.
That moment was made a joke by Casillas. “Your disgrace was against Chelsea,” the former Real Madrid keeper told Pique.
Gerard Pique, who was embarrassed, then responded. “I don’t want to get involved in this,” replied Pique, who won the Champions League with Barcelona that season.
