Two Périgord teams competed last weekend in the Equip’Athlé Benjamins-Minimes Autumn Tour in Angoulême. The Dordogne Athlétisme association won in Benjamin (es) and finished 5th in the juniors, just behind the Élan sportif de Trélissac.

She was hoping for a podium, she came away with gold. The youngest selection of Dordogne Athletics, which unites the strengths of the clubs of Sarlat, Périgueux and Bergerac, shone last Saturday in Angoulême, scene of the Equip’Athlé Benjamins-Minimes autumn Tour.

During this competition where each athlete must complete three events (a throw, a jump, a race), the Périgourdins took the first places like Sidonie Larasibar (CAP Athlé), 2nd in her 50m final and 3rd in the length, Zoé Kupcick (CAP Athlé) 2nd in the 50m, Lilly Richards (CAP Athlé) winner of the 1000 m ahead of Manon Conte-Ducourt (Bergerac AC), herself runner-up in the discus, Adèle Millot (Bergerac) winner of the pole vault competition and 3rd in the shot put, Thaïs Labarde (CAP Athlé) winner of the 2000m walk or Bastien Laval (PNA Sarlat) winner of the 1000m.

The East 4th among the Minimes

So many great performances which, put together, propelled Dordogne Athlétisme to the top of the youngest ranking with 256 points, a hair ahead of US Aigrefeuille Athlétisme (253) and Sèvre Bocage (247) and even in third place in the general ranking of N2 clubs in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, before the spring round next April. “Superb results which go beyond our expectations,” says Samuel Duval, coach at Dordogne Athlétisme. The Périgord selection was also entered in the Minimes category and took 5th place in the general ranking with 265 points (thanks in particular to the victories of Arthur Cam in the 2000m and Timothé Plasseraud in the hammer) just behind the Élan sportif de Trélissac (273), which finished at the foot of the podium behind La Rochelle, Niort and Saintes, but ahead of Cognac and Rochefort.

Among the Reds of the East, we notably remember the victory of Emma Casabonne in her 80m final, also second at the height, despite weather conditions unsuitable for the performance, the 2nd place of Chloé Nadal (in 31”63 ) in the 200m hurdles, the contribution of Louka Albert in the 1000m’ And of course the victory of the reigning regional champion relay, slightly modified for the occasion, composed of Faustine Millet, Chloé Nadal, Maelys Cheravola and Emma Casabonne, in the mixed 4x60m in 31”68 in front of Saintes 2 and Barbezieux.

Dordogne Athletics was also entered for the first time in its history in the French N2 Interclub U20 Championships this Sunday in Saran (Loiret). The Périgord selection, the only representative of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in U20, hoped for a Top 5 but had to settle for an 8th place in a competition won by Brive ahead of Saint-Malo and Lyon. A very honorable result, thanks in particular to the performances of Alizée Festal in the hammer (1st), Lalie Fourrage in the 200m (2nd), Louan Van Overstraeten in the 3000m (2nd) and Paul Conchard in the 110m hurdles ( 1st). Next meeting the Cross de Trélissac, on November 5.
