A woman was the victim of a serious sexual crime on Friday, September 6, between 2:00 and 3:00 am. This happened after she took the ferry from Central Station to Buiksloterweg. The police are looking for two special witnesses who were on the same ferry that night, who saw the person who committed the crime and started talking to him just before the incident.

The young woman is on her way home that Friday night with a few friends. They take the ferry from Central Station to the north. Once she is on the other side of the IJ, her friends cycle home and she continues to walk alone towards Céramiquelaan. Then a man approaches her.

“The suspect then roughly grabs the victim, drags her away and gropes her,” a police spokesman said. “The victim gets away from the suspect’s custody and fleeing.”

That evening, a man and a woman take the same ferry to Buiksloterweg. Shortly before, while they are waiting for the ferry, they start talking to the suspect, who is currently sitting in a waiting booth at the boarding area.

The police emphasize that these two witnesses will help to find the person who committed the crime. “The man is wearing a dark cap, short-sleeved shirt and dark colored pants down to his knees with white slippers underneath,” police said. He also has a white grille on the front of his bike.

The woman is wearing a black jacket with red sleeves and has a light colored backpack on her back. Police: “The two got off their bikes, sat down next to the suspect in the waiting booth and smoked a cigarette together.”

Suspicious description

Police say the suspect was dressed that night in a light-colored long-sleeved sweater and dark pants with white shoes underneath. The man was dark skinned and had a backpack.

The police are asking people who took the same ferry towards Noord (Buiksloterweg) on ​​September 6 around 2:30 am to report. The police are also asking people who saw or heard something crashing – in the Céramiquelaan area – to contact the station.
