The Hunedoara County Police announced on Monday that the man was caught, initially detained for 24 hours, and on Monday the Petroșani Court issued a preventive arrest warrant on his behalf.
According to a press release from the Hunedoara Police, on Saturday evening, around 7:40 p.m., the 24-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man on 1 Decembrie 1918 street in Petroșani. Under the threat of a knife, the man took her by force to Ștefan Octavian Iosif street, where he raped her.
According to the Police, the aggressor is a 40-year-old man from the municipality of Petroșani, who was detained for 24 hours, and on Monday he was remanded in custody for 30 days, for the crime of rape.
Judicial sources told HotNews.ro that the young woman was approached by the man when she was leaving a store, threatened with death and taken to a side street, where she was raped.
