Darmstadt/Bickenbach (ots) –
Two 13-year-olds from Darmstadt and their 15-year-old companion triggered the police action on Tuesday afternoon (April 5) and also ensured that rail traffic had to be stopped for around 10 minutes around 3 p.m. in the Bickenbach train station area.
The trio is currently suspected of having aggressively spoken to, verbally insulted and threatened with an airsoft gun a few minutes earlier, a railway employee on platform 9/10 of Darmstadt’s main train station. The boys then boarded regional train 60 heading towards Mannheim. After the police were alerted by the threatened man, the officials stopped the train in Bickenbach and arrested the young people from Darmstadt. They had unsuccessfully attempted to escape on foot in the direction of the industrial area.
During the subsequent search, the officers found the weapon described, which was a silver-colored plastic pistol. The trio was taken to the station. An investigation was initiated there on suspicion of threats and insults. After completing all measures, they were handed over to the care of legal guardians.
Luckily no one was injured during the operation. Commissariat 35 of the Darmstadt criminal police is now entrusted with the further investigations in this case.
Witnesses who were able to observe what was happening at Darmstadt Central Station or who can provide other relevant information are asked to contact the officials (phone number 06151/9690).
