Tyreke Colón was arrested on suspicion of selling 36 weapons, valued at more than $40,000, to an undercover NYPD officer over a three-month period.
Colón, a 24-year-old alleged arms dealer, allegedly traveled by bus from his hometown in North Carolina to Manhattan with a bag full of guns for the purpose of selling them to an undercover police officer, authorities said.
The suspect sold or was about to sell weapons to an undercover officer during three different meetings at a Harlem gas station from February to April. All of the undercover purchases occurred in broad daylight and were captured on video, NYPD said. The suspect was also recorded on wiretaps as he arranged for gun purchases which he then offered for sale.
