The new coach Friedhelm Funkel has to do without Ismail Jakobs for an indefinite period in the relegation battle between the Bundesliga and 1. FC Köln. According to the club, the U21 international sustained an ankle ligament injury in training on Tuesday.
The Cologne team did not provide details about the injury and possible downtime. Jakobs played for FC in 21 of 28 Bundesliga games this season, mostly in the left attacking midfield.
