Leigh Nicol, 25, is midfielder of the Crystal Palace football team, of the women’s division, and decided to join four young English women in a lawsuit against ‘PornHub’, one of the most recognized porn sites in the world.

The young woman was the victim of cybercriminals who leaked a sex video on the platform in 2019. During the last hours, Nicol published a statement in which he assures that his intentions when facing the company are to prevent future generations “Have to go through the same suffering.”

Nicol is a rising star in the world of English football. According to ‘The Sun’, the young woman took her first steps in the Celtic Football Club Women, from his native Scotland. He then went through Arsenal in 2013 and later had successful stints with Reading, London Bees and Millwall.
The young woman explained that in 2019 her life took a sudden turn when she realized that there was a video of her on ‘PornHub’, according to the athlete’s complaint, the footage was recorded, in 2014, when she was 18 years old.

The same English media assured that Nicol had to withdraw for a year from his social networks due to the negative comments he received because of the video.

In a recent interview he gave to ‘Sky Sports’, he said that he suffered severe anxiety problems and depressive episodes: “The illness was extreme. It was a mix between having a panic attack and being sick, it was like a vicious cycle. It was absolutely appalling, I felt ashamed, resigned, sick … Besides, I keep questioning myself and I don’t feel like a good enough person” .
In the release he shared also made it clear that he continues to suffer “Significant emotional damage, including anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and panic attacks.”

According to ‘The New York Post’ the young woman decided to join forces with four other women who claim to have suffered a similar experience.
Nicol, claims the video was stolen by hackers who apparently broke into his iCloud account and they spread what she kept.
‘PornHub’ removed the videos after I submitted “numerous emails” and receive “generic and automated responses”, Nicol counted.

However, she believes that they took action very late, as a footage had already been positioned as a trend and was released in other illegal sites from Internet.
The demand that Nicol filed with MindGeek, the company that manages the platform, has 179 pages and was presented this Thursday, June 17, before a state court in California, the city where the main offices are located.

Nicol said he wanted to start face the ghosts that torment her since the events happened, because “People who watch these videos do not realize the damage they cause in the lives of the people recorded. They are giving these websites a lot of money with their visits, their exchanges and their downloads, but there are victims here and I am one of them ”, it said in the statement.

He also wants to spread his case so that more people who have gone through a similar situation are encouraged to speak and report who have been victims of cybercriminals.
“In my case the damage has already been done, so it concerns the next generations. I feel like prevention is better than someone who has to deal with this. I can’t change it alone, but I can raise awareness to prevent it from happening to others, that’s what I want to do ”.

For its part, ‘PornHub’ is pronounced and said he was reviewing and investigating the complaint. “We resolutely support all victims of Internet-related abuse. PornHub takes all complaints related to abuse of its platform seriously, including those from the plaintiffs in this case.”the company stated.

This would not be the first incident related to the disclosure of stolen videos or the few security filters on the platform. ‘The Sun’ reported that in February of this year a federal lawsuit against MindGeek because the security system “It is a disaster and they would lose money if they reinforce it”, according to the plaintiff, whose identity is unknown.
