Jong PSV lost to Helmond Sport on Monday evening. At the Herdgang it became 1-3.
PSV’s promises started the match against their fellow provincials in a dramatic manner. Within fifteen minutes, the visitors from Helmond had already found the net three times. Niek Schiks did not look good with the second and certainly third goal. First the twenty-year-old goalkeeper was knocked into the short corner and then completely misjudged a corner.
In the second half, substitute Marcus Younis did something back on behalf of coach Alfons Groenendijk’s team, but they could not overcome the bad start. The game had to be stopped in the last minutes of the match. Supporters of Helmond Sport threw fireworks on the field, forcing the players to go inside for ten minutes.
Jong PSV is in eighth place with eleven points after eight games.
