DRAFT – A group of four young people caused a lot of damage on Friday night by throwing a beer bottle at a moving car. This happened around 10.45pm on the Overstesingel in Drachten.
The motorist was driving towards the Trisken when a group of young people cycled towards her on the wrong side of the road. At the intersection with the Lauwers, the woman was pelted with the beer bottle. Her car was badly damaged and the mirror is also broken.
A beer bottle in pieces
The incident shocked the woman. At first she thought it was a rock, but later it was a beer bottle. “My daughter and her boyfriend came back to the place where it happened that same evening. They found a beer bottle in pieces,” said the victim’s mother.
Confirmation
The owner of the vehicle has filed a police report. Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 0900-8844 or the victim’s mother via Facebook.
