A group of young people stormed the fair in Almere last night. There were also riots and fights. Due to the chaos, the fair was closed an hour earlier than usual by the police.
Due to the corona measures, the fair will take place this year on a closed site in Almere Stad. A maximum of 900 people can be inside at a time, the rest must wait behind the fences. Last night the waiting time was up to one and a half hours, for a group of about a hundred young people that was too long.
“Then people started to climb over the fences through the back; storm the fences,” said fair employee Jerry Weulink at Broadcasting Flevoland. “I’ve never experienced anything as crazy as this.”
