Young people detained who killed a member of a rival group in Cazenga with a machete – Jornal OPaís

Nine individuals, aged between 17 and 19, were arrested and presented, yesterday, by the Criminal Investigation Service in Luanda, for being involved in the death of an 18-year-old citizen, during a feud between rival groups, in the municipality of Cazenga

In addition to killing the 18-year-old young man, who went by the name of Ruben Sapalo Pedro, members of the group Os UTD recorded a video to terrorize the enemy gang (Os Bleck Tai) and create a feeling of insecurity in the neighborhood. According to SIC-Luanda spokesperson, Fernando de Carvalho, this body spared no effort to arrest the nine citizens, aged between 17 and 19, who are accused of the crimes of criminal association, participation in “feuds” and Qualified homicide due to means, using a sharp weapon (machete).

Ruben’s death occurred on February 8th, around 10pm, in the 11 de Novembro neighborhood, Rua do Matadidi, on a public street, specifically close to the old Praça das Mulheres. “This criminal association, called Os Bleck Tai, of which the victim was a member, got into a fight with the rival group Os UTD and, in the fight, one of the members of the latter association struck the victim several times with a machete, who Unable to resist his injuries, he died at the scene.

The investigations carried out by the SIC culminated in the arrest of nine elements, six belonging to the criminal association Os Bleck Tai and three from UTD. Without further evidence, they were all present to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the judge of guarantees who ordered the deprivation of freedom of those involved.

At the time of the presentation, the father of the deceased, an 18-year-old young man, with a sad expression, thanked the Police for their work, encouraging them to continue their journey in clarifying crimes, especially cases of fights between rival groups. “We reaffirm the constant action of our body to prevent and combat criminal actions and, in this participation, I come to draw the attention of parents to better monitor the actions of their children”, concluded Fernando Carvalho.
