More than 3,000 young people took part in the major youth meeting on Wednesday March 27, 2024 in order to develop a consensual document which should serve as a framework document for discussions with other actors during the national dialogue.
Opened by Vice-President Joseph Owondault, the work brought together young Gabonese people from associative organizations in the 9 provinces of Gabon. During these meetings, it is a question of discussing very specific themes, through panels with experts, in order to bring out a memorandum of understanding which can ensure that Gabonese youth can speak with one voice, to their development, during the inclusive national dialogue beginning on April 2.
in fact, young people are determined to take part in this major political meeting in Gabon in order to make themselves heard and participate in the reconstruction of Gabon. Also for a success of the transition led by the head of state, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. For the president of the National Youth Council (CNJ), Dariss Nyoundou Souza, the meetings which began on March 27 and will end this Thursday, emphasize “the contribution and impact of Gabonese youth in the transition process: issues and perspectives”, he insists before adding that, « the institutionalization of the CNJ is imperative so that youth are definitively recognized as a real force of proposals and an important actor in the development process of Gabon “. continues the president of the CNJ.
Note that young people will be represented at the National Dialogue on April 2, the president of the transition has allocated them 20 places and the position of 6th vice-president of the national dialogue office.
