The French president’s security service has detained the attacker
An angry young man stabbed French President Emmanuel Macron with an egg during his visit to the exhibition of restaurateurs and hoteliers in Lyon.
With shouts of “Long live the revolution,” the young man threw the egg, which struck the head of state on the shoulder, and then crashed to the ground.
The assailant was detained and handcuffed by Macron’s bodyguards.

The president later asked to see the young man. “If he wants to tell me something, let him come,” Macron urged.
Emmanuel Macron’s rating is falling – only 38 percent of French people say they approve of his rule, while 59 percent of respondents are dissatisfied with him.
However, his approval is higher than that of his two predecessors, Francois Hollande (22 per cent) and Nicolas Sarkozy (36 per cent) at the same time.
This is not the first time angry Frenchmen have attacked Emmanuel Macron. In June, a man slapped the French president during a meeting with citizens in southern France. Damien T. received 18 months in prison for the attack, 14 of which were suspended. The 28-year-old man told the court that he acted impulsively, not according to plan. He was motivated by his anger that France was “declining.”
In 2017, when Macron was a candidate for head of state, there was also an egg attack against him. Emmanuel Macron was then visiting an agricultural fair, and the egg broke in his head.
