A young man was shot dead in Dampremy, a sub-municipality of Charleroi. The Charleroi public prosecutor’s office confirms this. The shooting was the result of a robbery and two suspects have now been arrested.
The victim is an 18-year-old boy from Farciennes. He was shot in Elio Ivan Park. Two suspects were arrested on the spot. “They were arrested based on initial witness statements and clothing descriptions,” the Charleroi public prosecutor’s office said.
Several house searches of suspects will also take place on Friday evening. According to initial information, the murder may have been committed to facilitate a theft. “Something may have been taken from the victim. This explains the current searches, in particular to possibly find the stolen object,” the public prosecutor’s office added.
