A young man is seriously injured in a bear attack in the municipality of Mora in Dalarna in Sweden. It is the fourth bear attack in a short time.
Mora is located in central Sweden, approximately 30 miles east of Lillehammer.
The man is said to have been hunting with a friend when the bear attacked on Friday morning.
– There has been some form of hunting, and a young, adult man has been attacked. He has been sent to hospital by ambulance, and we are on the scene and investigating the circumstances surrounding the hunt, says press spokesperson Mats Öhman at Polisregion Bergslagen to SVT.
He says it is unclear whether the bear has been shot.
The Swedish bear hunt began on Monday 21 August, and since then several hunters have been attacked by bears.
Two weeks ago, two hunters were bitten by bears while hunting in Jämtland. The attacks took place in two different locations, a day apart. Both bears were shot.
A few days earlier, a hunter and his 14-year-old son were injured in an attack in Ljusdal municipality in Gävleborg, on the first day of the bear hunt.
A total of 649 bears will be taken in the Swedish license hunt, which lasts until 15 October.
