Young man registers conjunction of Venus and Jupiter in the sky of Santa Catarina

A resident of Santa Catatina caught the conjunction between Venus and Jupiter, next to the Moon. The image was taken by historian Kalita Silva, 23, on Thursday morning (28) in Criciúma, in the south, at 6:02 am.

A resident of the Maria Céu neighborhood, the young woman has the habit of photographing the dawn as soon as she wakes up. On Thursday, she noticed that the sky was in shades of pink and decided to do the recording. Later, when she was browsing a social network, she found out about the phenomenon.

“I saw a picture about [o alinhamento]then I noticed that I had taken a photo of the same and I commented it with my brother”, he explained.

According to professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) Alexandre Zabot, at g1, the image is a visual sensation, since the planets are in the same plane around the Sun. As they rotate, they end up lining up.

“It’s a geometric effect. One is close to the other because of the projection with which we look”, says the specialist, who is a doctor in Astrophysics and coordinator of the Astrophysics for All extension program.

According to him, the phenomenon is not exactly rare and, when it occurs, it lasts for a few days. But viewing depends on ideal weather opening conditions. Unlike other phenomena, which require viewing from more distant locations, the confluence of planets, due to their brightness, can be seen even in the center of large cities.
