The LiveOnNY organization says Josué saved the lives of seven people who needed transplants.
“It’s rare that #organdonation leads to 8 transplanted organs. #LiveOnNY it was an honor to fulfill the wishes of him and his family,” said LiveOnNY President and CEO Leonard Achan.
Josué donated 8 organs in New York, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, to people ranging from 8 months of age to 68 years.
Today his heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, and pancreas live on in other people, making Josué an organ donor hero who will live on for generations to come.
So far no arrests have been made in the shooting where another teenager was also shot in the leg.
