A young man was injured in a shooting in the Brussels municipality of Anderlecht last night. RTL Info reports this and the news is confirmed by the local police Brussels South (Anderlecht/Sint-Gillis/Vorst). The exact circumstances of the shooting are still unclear.
The incident took place around 4 am, in the vicinity of the Sint-Guido metro station in Anderlecht. “A witness saw two young people involved in an argument just before 4 a.m.,” said police spokesperson Sarah Frederickx. “Shortly afterwards several shots were fired. One of the two young people was injured in the leg.”
The victim was taken to hospital by emergency services. Police established a perimeter and opened an investigation into the motive and circumstances of the shooting. No suspect has been arrested so far.
