The Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) accused a man who raped his mother and sister in Braga for theft and extortion in order to force them to give him money, the Porto District Attorney General announced today.
In a note published on its website, that prosecutor said that the MP indicated that the defendant, on 11 and 18 March 2019, approached his mother, resident in Braga, “an elderly person without physical dexterity and strength, hitting and saying that I would kill her if I didn’t give her money ”.
In this way, he managed to get his mother to give him 20 euros one time, borrowing 10 from a neighbor.
The other time, the defendant took 50 euros from the victim himself.
Also according to the MP, the defendant incurred similar behavior towards his sister, who has been giving him 20, 30 and 90 euros daily, since November 2019, “afraid of the threats” that the defendant addressed him when looking for her in the its commercial establishment, located in Braga.
On January 15, 2020, as the sister had started to refuse to hand over money, the defendant entered the aforementioned store at opening time, armed himself with a screwdriver and an x-act and threatened the victim and her husband, saying that he would “cheat” them if they didn’t give him money.
The defendant is accused of four extortion crimes, three of theft and one of aggravated threat.
