Despite the violence of the crime, investigators do not consider it, as it stands, as a settling of scores.
Weeks go by in Marseille, and the Marseille city continues to mourn its victims who were shot dead. A man in his twenties was found dead from a bullet in the head on the night of Friday to Saturday, November 20, in the heart of Marseille, near the Belle de Mai district, we learned Saturday from corroborating sources.
The Marseille firefighters, called to the scene around midnight, were unable to resuscitate the victim, who was declared dead on the spot shortly after, they confirmed to AFP. Few elements were available Saturday morning to understand the unfolding of the facts, but nothing in any case allowed to affirm that this event could be a settling of scores linked to drug trafficking.
Little known police victim
This event “is not considered an immediate settling of scores”, was thus confirmed on the side of the investigators of the judicial police, seized of this file, the weapon used not being a “heavy weapon” and the victim being “little known” to the police services. “As it stands, no information is available on the motive” of this homicide, Dominique Laurens, prosecutor of the Republic of Marseille, told AFP.
