Speaking today to the Lusa agency, the president of the IPVC, Carlos Rodrigues, said that “most of the classes will continue to be provided at a distance, with the decision to“ reactivate face-to-face classes in the subjects of the curricular units.

“In this case, distance learning does not solve the training of students,” he said, pointing as an example “laboratory classes, undergraduate courses and courses for Higher Professional Technicians”.

Carlos Rodrigues said that the return will be phased “according to the conditions and needs of each school and in strict compliance with the safety rules that are foreseen”.

The Applied Microbiology Unit (UMA) of the IPVC, will start with 40 to 50 samples daily, but aiming to reach 180, to support the 70 nursing homes in the district of Viana do Castelo.

Carlos Rodrigues said that the IPVC services “start to operate with face-to-face service on May 4, if the state of emergency is taking place, with less than half of the employees, with the rest staying in telework and running every week. not”.

“Workers with associated diseases and over 60 years old stay home, and those who have to support their children enter the salary reduction regime”.

With about five thousand students, the IPVC has six schools – Education, Technology and Management, Agrarian, Nursing, Business Sciences, Sports and Leisure -, offering 28 undergraduate degrees, 40 masters degrees, 34 Courses for Higher Professional Technicians (CTESP) and others professional training.
