Violence in the streets of the Island continues to claim lives throughout the country, with a young father residing in Ciego de Ávila being one of the most recent victims.
According to the Cuban influencer Niover Licea, the deceased was identified as David Estrada, who would have died after receiving several injuries during a street fight.
The complaint indicates that the incident occurred on the night of Good Friday, when a fight occurred that ended up taking the young man to the hospital. In that sense, the influencer requested the help of the community to obtain information in this regard.
The content creator specified that the young father died in the operating room, when the doctors were trying to save his life.
For her part, the deceased’s partner, identified on social networks as Valentina Gallardo, shared several publications in which she said goodbye to the young man, who left behind a small child.
“I love you and your son loves you with life. My black rest in peace. I adore you and I swear that your son will always say ‘my dad is and will be the Tranka of Calle C,’” the woman wrote on Facebook, where she also shared several photographs in which she appeared next to the deceased.
In the comments section, dozens of users mourned the young man’s death, stating that they had trouble believing what had happened to Estrada.
“Very sorry”; “Without words for what happened, full of life, you left”; “A good kid who didn’t deserve this” and “For me this is still not credible,” wrote some of the Internet users in the publication.
The death of the young father occurs in the midst of an increase in insecurity on the island, which is denied by the Castro authorities.
One of the most recent cases was recorded in the province of Santiago de Cuba, where a young man was allegedly attacked with a knife and a machete during an argument that escalated last week.
According to journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, the incident occurred on Sunday, March 24, in the community of El Caney, in the head municipality of that province. The victim was identified only as Alberto, known on the streets as “El Avatar” and “El Chino.”
“According to what they say, Alberto spat at the murderer because he took the food he had and he looked for a knife and a machete, causing multiple stab wounds and injuries, and although they managed to help him, he couldn’t stand it and died on the way to the hospital,” a neighbor assured the journalist.
