The police have investigated the case accident the death of a Honda HR-V that hit three motorcyclists in Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Central Jakarta. The driver of the car with the initials BT (20) has been named a suspect.
“The driver of the car has been named a suspect,” said Head of the Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya Kompol Arga Dija Putra when contacted, Thursday (17/2/2022).
One motorcyclist is known to have died after being hit by a BT car on Wednesday (16/2) early in the morning. Arga said that BT was subject to Article 310 paragraph 4 of the Road Traffic and Transportation Law.
However, regarding the suspect BT will be detained, the police have not answered for sure. Arga said that BT is currently still being secured at the Sub-Directorate of Gakkum, Ditlantas, Polda Metro Jaya.
“In the meantime, we are still securing him at the office. For his status, we will determine the suspect,” explained Arga.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday (16/2) at around 01.00 WIB. At that time, the car driven by BT hit three motorbikes that passed in front of it.
One motorcyclist with the initials MI (17) died at the scene. Two other motorcyclists were injured and are being treated at the hospital.
The accident had gone viral on social media. In the viral video, it is seen that BT is suspected of being drunk.
