A good year ago, four young personalities with special hobbies were chosen by Ovomaltine to be “Heads of Mach-dein-Ding” and have since then been supported by the Swiss cult brand in turning their hobbies into a profession – regardless of what they think others it. For this, the four have been employed by Ovaltine at Wander AG since February 2022 at 20 percent – with the only “obligation” to continue pursuing their favorite hobby. That way, they should eventually get closer to their ultimate goal of turning their passion into a career.
A year later, according to a statement, the project was a success: Cheffe de Couture Mathilde, whose great passion is to sew specially created clothing collections, opened her pop-up store for the first time. Pumpfoil leader Balz pumped through all three Seeland lakes in just one day with a newly developed sail. It’s about 60 kilometers of pure effort. According to the announcement, the Bernese himself can’t believe what he got: “That [Projekt] it still drives me crazy.”
Jump with Attitude boss Samy also came close to his big goal of opening a rope jumping school: thanks to the support of Jung von Matt Limmat and Ovomaltine, he was able to organize his own workshops and involve children and young people enthusiastic about jumping rope. And speaking of excitement, the head of storytelling Raphael created a graphic novel for which he not only had to write the story, but also hand-illustrated all the comics. Although [die Graphic Novel] If it’s not quite finished yet, I’ll continue with it,” Raphael says after completing his stint as “Mach-dein-Ding’s Chief.”
The Chiefs’ entire journey, from presenting their goals to the implementation and conclusion process, has been documented in social media diary format. Together with Jung von Matt Limmat and Ovomaltine, the Chiefs presented their “journey” on Instagram and TikTok, inspiring the Ovo community to believe in themselves and make their dreams come true. “You Ovo Rock” writes a user under Mathilde’s video and “Starki Leistig!” says another success of Balz.
While the Chiefs’ tenure may be ending, Ovaltine’s project isn’t done yet. He should continue in autumn 2023: “We don’t know yet whether we will start again with four garments, but definitely with one or two people,” says Christof Stulz, Marketing Manager at Wander AG.
