Hedwiges Maduro made a one-off appearance in front of the group at Jong Ajax on Monday. He officiated the match against FC Den Bosch as part of his UEFA Pro training. The assistant coach of Ajax 1 was able to call on Carlos Forbs, among others, who made his first minutes for the Amsterdam promising team.
Maduro saw from the sidelines that the match at the Toekomst was getting off to a slow start. The first big chance of the match came after more than fifteen minutes of play for the visitors. Defender Nick de Groot received the ball on a silver platter, but headed wide from close range.
Lead by FC Den Bosch
Shortly before half time, FC Den Bosch still took the lead in Amsterdam. Goalkeeper Tom de Graaff was able to save Jaron Vicario’s first shot, but had no answer to Kacper Kostorz’s rebound. The halftime score at De Toekomst was therefore 0-1.
Young Ajax started the second half unchanged. Occasional coach Maduro did make a position change. Jaydon Banel and Forbs swapped flanks, leaving the latter to play on the right.
Nevertheless, the Amsterdam promises were unable to make a fist in the second half. After more than an hour of play, FC Den Bosch doubled their lead. Kostorz took advantage of a poor back pass and scored his second goal of the evening: 0-2.
Young Ajax was unable to do anything back in the last half hour, which was also the final result in Amsterdam. Kian Fitz-Jim was close to scoring the tying goal about ten minutes before the final whistle, but his attempt went back into the field via the inside of the post.
