PEC leaves through the official channels know that Namli is the next addition. The midfielder played eighteen times in the Eredivisie last season. Sparta decided not to extend the player’s contract, which means that a return to PEC is now a fact. The Danish-Moroccan player was active in the past for sc Heerenveen, PEC and Sparta in the Eredivisie. In 2019, the player left PEC for the Russian Krasnodar for a record amount.
Namli is the seventh acquisition of the PhD student in the run-up to the new season. Earlier, Odysseus Velanas, Kenneth Vermeer and Anouar El Azzouzi came over transfer-free. Ferdi Druijff, Lennart Czyborra and Zico Buurmeester are just hired.
The midfielder can’t wait to get back to work on the old nest. “It immediately felt familiar when I entered the stadium of PEC Zwolle. I met acquaintances again, but at the same time I also saw that the club has not stood still in recent years and has professionalized,” says Namli on the club site.
Technical manager Marcel Boudesteyn is happy to embrace the Dane again. “We are very happy that Younes chose PEC Zwolle. Younes also had the option to play football elsewhere abroad, but I think his club love for PEC Zwolle was the deciding factor. In addition to his offensive qualities, Younes also brings a lot of experience that we can use.”
