You won’t find a crazier Fiat Panda! He has technique from a rally special

This Fiat Panda is powered by a supercharged 16-liter engine with about 300 horsepower. Behind the crazy project is the company M Sport, known for years as the creator of Fords for the World Rally Championship.

The British company M-Sport is best known as the creator of Fords for the World Rally Championship. In the past, however, she also took care of the Bentley circuit or built a special version of the Ford Transit. He now has a new M-Sport Special Vehicles division building custom cars. You are now presenting your first work.

This is a Fiat Panda in the attached photos, which at first glance is very different from the original, ie an affordable hatchback from the eighties. It was created to order an unnamed client who wanted a car capable of participating in road and gravel rallies.

At the same time, M-Sport’s experience proves that these modifications are not just eye-catching, but really functional. Although the body of the first-generation Fiat Panda really became the basis of the special called Pandamonium, we find a completely redesigned technology in the bowels.

The new chassis used components from the first generation of the Ford Fiesta R5 special rally. This is the most successful special of the company, of which 294 pieces were created. For this reason, the body of the Panda had to be extended by a substantial 360 mm, which was also to help the driving characteristics. M-Sport used special fender extensions for this modification, which are supposed to evoke the former rally specialties of the famous group B.

It was from the Fiesta R5 that the propulsion system was also used. Specifically, the drive is taken care of by a supercharged petrol four-cylinder 1.6 EcoBoost tuned to some 221 kW (300 hp) and 450 Nm. The engine is paired with a five-speed sequential transmission Sadev, which sends its power to all four wheels.

This interior is reminiscent of the original Panda in terms of dashboard. However, due to the targeting, there are also seats with six-point belts or a safety cage homologated by the FIA. The rear seats were then replaced by space for spare wheels.

“I am amazed at what we have been able to achieve. I was lucky enough to finish testing the car and test its capabilities; not only is it great looking, it is also great driving, ”says M-Sport boss Malcolm Wilson about the news.

The head of M-Sport admits that Panda is the company’s first such project, but certainly not the last. According to him, this is the first work of a new era of special, small-series projects of the company. However, he did not mention how much such a car costs. However, it is again confirmed that there is interest in special vehicles and you can have anything built, if you have enough money for it.
