you will not want to have a look at it!

With the epidemic of coronavirus which is spreading more and more in the world, we would like to flee to another planet. Well, it won’t be this time. This new planet discovered by scientists is not habitable … and for several good reasons. A funny planet where it’s raining iron.

A new planet discovered

This is how scientists discovered this new planet. Thanks to an iron rain. Dr. David Ehrenreich of the University of Geneva, who led the study, told our foreign colleagues on the BBC: ” Imagine instead of a trickle of water droplets, you have iron droplets splashing“. Ouch. No doctor, we prefer not to imagine. But as if that were not enough, it is rather hot on this planet, with a light summer breeze.

A new place … but not habitable

Wasp-76b, is the name of this new planet discovered by scientists in Chile, thanks to the new Espresso instrument from the Very Large Telescope, at the European Southern Observatory. A rather hot planet, which would explain these iron rains. Indeed, on Wasp-76b – what a pretty name when you think about it – it can be up to 2400 °. And in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit, it stays hot. From time to time the temperature outside the aircraft drops to 1400 °. Remember to take a small wool.

As if, these high temperatures were not enough, there is also a bit of wind on this planet. With gusts up to 1600 km / h, you have to stay hooked. By comparison, these tornadoes are ten times faster than during a hurricane. Finally, last problem and no size, the distance. Wasp-76b is 640 light years from Earth. Knowing that a single light year represents about 9000 billion km, I let you do the math. We are not close to being able to leave Earth.
