Ed Sheeran, who will perform in a sold-out Johan Cruijff ArenA on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 July, cannot be beaten off the radio with his hit singles. But you probably hear it more often than you realize. In addition to his successful own work and duets with other world stars, the artist also regularly writes songs for other artists.

Sheeran finally breaks through in 2011 with the hit The A Team and is already busy writing songs for other artists. Several years before Sheeran the duet I Don’t Care with Justin Bieber, he has already collaborated with the Canadian pop idol. For Bieber’s album Purpose from 2015 the two write the song together Love Yourself. The song, on which Bieber – accompanied only by an acoustic guitar – addresses an ex who treated him badly, is released as a single and reaches number one on the charts worldwide.

Rita Ora – Your Song
Rita Ora knows who to turn to for a hit. After she had a big hit in 2014 with I Will Never Let You Down (written by her then-partner Calvin Harris), in 2017 she comes up with Your Song, written by Sheeran and Steve Mac, with whom he writes much of his music. The song gives the British singer another top 10 hit. The issue will be published in 2021 Big, which features Ora with Imanbek, David Guetta and Gunna. Sheeran also co-wrote this song.

Alicia Keys – Underdog

BTS – Permission To Dance
Sheeran seems to be well aware of what’s going on among young people, who make up a significant part of the music streaming audience. That’s how he gives the number Permission To Dance, which he wrote with a team of songwriters, for the South Korean boy band BTS. The internationally immensely popular group will release it as a separate single in 2021 and even manage to make it a number 1 hit in the United States.
