Countess Mountbatte’s distinctive pigsty, cousin of Prince Philip, was auctioned for a lot of money.
London – A pig-shaped evening bag studded with diamonds has been auctioned in London for more than 109,000 pounds (the equivalent of more than 126,000 euros).

This was announced by the London auction house Sotheby’s after the auction.
The bag and several other precious jewelry had belonged to Countess Mountbatten, Patricia Knatchbull, a cousin of the Queen consort Prince Philip, who had died in 2017.
Originally, the auction house had only expected 2000 to 3000 pounds for the golden pig’s pocket.

A number of other treasures with a royal connection also came under the hammer at the auction on Wednesday evening – this lasted a total of more than ten hours and brought in more than five million pounds.
