Studio Ghibli is known around the world for quite a few films. A baker from England is now showing his fanatic love with a cake.

When talking about the most famous anime studios of all time, the name Ghibli is not far. The 1985 production company is known for such works as Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Princess Mononoke – all of which are classics that have enjoyed worldwide success. The studio is still working on new films today. To celebrate this fact, a fan has now come up with something very special.

Sky island Laputa as a pastry

Steven Carter Bailey is a baker who made a name for himself on television. Since 2017 he has appeared in the series “The British Bake Off” and conjures up a wide variety of creations there. But his fame doesn’t stop him from expressing his love for anime. Since The Castle in Heaven is his favorite Ghibli film, he recently baked a cake entirely in his style.

Anyone who knows the film from 1986 knows that the cake represents the heavenly island of Laputa. The baker also decided to create one of the iconic combat robots. The TV star has not forgotten the clouds under the island and a number of other details. The only question that arises is whether such a pretty pastry wouldn’t be too good to eat.

Studio Ghibli released its latest theatrical adventure, Earwig and the Witch, in October last year. The film stands out from all of the studio’s other films as it was fully 3D animated for the first time. The company’s next project is to complete its gigantic theme park. This is to open in 2022 and will receive 1.8 million visitors annually.
