Parents who have registered their child in a holiday center are asked not to recover the registration fees from the latter. In return, they will retain the benefit of the tax deduction to which this registration gives right, said Monday the Federal Minister of Finance, Alexander De Croo, and the Ministers of Youth and Childhood of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Valérie Glatigny and Bénédicte Linard.

The appeal is addressed to parents for whom such a gesture is financially possible. It aims to prevent the organizers of holiday courses (playgrounds, stays, camps) from encountering too great financial difficulties following the covid-19 crisis and the cancellations of activities which ensued.
“By this gesture, we want to encourage parents who can to support youth associations,” said De Croo (Open Vld) in a press release.
“The margins in the youth sector are low. Although parents have the right to claim the registration fee, we suggest that they not do so if it is financially feasible for them, said Glatigny (MR).
