Attention! Thanks to a test, traces of a powerful herbicide were found in some batches of spaghetti of well-known brands. Here’s what it is.
Italian cuisine is loved and known all over the world. Starting from pasta, passing through the pizzas, up to the pesto, in fact, there are many Italian delicacies, able to satisfy the palates of both adults and children. Many, on the other hand, are the dishes typical of our country also exported abroad, with each region distinguishing itself with typical local dishes.
At the same time it is always good to pay attention to what we eat, in order to avoid having to deal with possible inconveniences. Precisely in this context it should be known that an investigation was recently carried out, following which traces of a powerful herbicide were found in some lots of spaghetti from well-known brands. Here’s what it is.
Spaghetti of well-known brands contaminated: traces of glyphosate were found
A new test conducted in Germany confirmed the presence of glyphosate in some batches of spaghetti. It is a potent herbicide that the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified among probable carcinogens. In the past, traces of glyphatous have already been found which, we underline, was found in low quantities and within the limits of the law.
At the same time, however, it focuses on the fact that it is still used a lot, thus ending up in our tables. In this regard, according to the survey conducted by the magazine Öko-Test, it is clear that more than half of the 19 brands tested, exported to Germany but many of which are made in Italy, have precisely small quantities of this much-discussed herbicide.

In particular, traces of glyphatous were found in 11 spaghetti, including brands Barilla, Buitoni and Combino of Lidl. The other brands are mostly sold in Germany. But not only that, some brands have registered the presence of mineral oils and mold toxins. The presence, at increased levels, of Deossinivalenolo in two packs of spaghetti, including Lidl’s Combino.
