The daughter of “Lieutenant Dan” who defied Hurricane Milton on his boat fears that internet popularity will be her father’s fate. The New York Post and the Daily Mail report on it, among others.

Forrest Gump – a Tampa resident who got his nickname from the character in the movie Joseph Malinowski rose to internet fame when, despite the authorities’ advice, he allegedly stayed on his sailboat overnight when Hurricane Milton hit Florida in the United States.

The 54-year-old Malinowski survived the storm, and people excited by the man’s story have donated money for a new boat for tens of thousands of dollars.

Yesterday, Friday, the man’s daughter Ashley Ann Malinowski however, expressed his displeasure with the whole thing on Tiktok.

In the profanity-laced video, the daughter says that she is afraid that the money will go to drugs and “Lieutenant Dan” will die before he even sees his possible new boat.

– Lieutenant Dan was doing very well before all that money, the daughter says in the video in English.

– You don’t know that man. You don’t know him at all. No one is really fucking interested in him either. Nobody really cares. All of you are just using her to make her and yourselves more famous and look good, the daughter opens up.

People have donated more than $46,000 to Malinowski on Gofundme. Also, an American internet influencer Adin Ross offered to pay Malinowski $100,000 to get a new boat, the Daily Mail reports, among others.

In recent days, “Lieutenant Dan” has also been in a worse light in the public eye, when numerous media outlets have reported on his criminal history.

For example, Malinowski has spent a year in prison because he punched a police officer in the face during an arrest, WUFT, a subsidiary of the PBS channel, reports.

According to WUFT, last year a man was arrested because he tried to set a woman sitting on a park bench on fire. However, no charges were brought in the case.
