Even traveling by public transport is no longer safe. Or rather, scams also run in this direction

The city of Napoli was recently involved in a scam issue. Some online criminals were trying to perpetrate against poor unfortunate people who perhaps just want to save a little.

But let’s go in order. The issue revolves around public transport season tickets in the Campania capital: Unico Campania. The company that manages the season tickets, and its tickets and travel passes, were used as decoys.

In fact, an alleged promotion appeared on social media promising a year of free travel with Unique Campania thanks to an annual card, which can be obtained simply by clicking on a link proposed as a viaticum to obtain the prize.

“Special offer for residents of Naples: get a Unico Campania transport card and use public transport and parking for one year absolutely free, promotion valid until the end of the week”. So reports napoli.corriere.it in an article that talks about this truly inelegant scam.

The discovery of Nino Simeone

To discover the scam Nino Simeonepresident of Transport Commission of the Municipality of Naples who, finding the two links on Facebook offering the so-called “public transport card in Campania”, immediately contacted the Single Consortium to find out if there was something real in that promo.

Needless to say, the managers of the Consortium made it known that it was a scam that is circulating on social media and in relation to which they are already taking precautionary measures, primarily by explaining the situation to users on their official web page.

The complaint will be filed

It was then made official by Consortium that the managers are taking steps to expose official complaint to the Postal Police. The objective is to try to stop this type of scam which more and more often leads poor unfortunate people to fall into the trap who, perhaps absentmindedly, find themselves clicking on the link and paying money which instead goes to criminals.

Nino Simeone, listened to by the journalists of the Campania portal, also added that “The recommendation is to keep your eyes wide open and not send money to links advertising this initiative. Instead, you should always consult the official pages of public transport companies.” In this particular case, the official web page of the Naples public transport company is called www.unicocampania.it and it is the only channel through which you can purchase a transport season ticket Neapolitans.
