You can still learn something in the “Digi-Kafi”.

There is room for improvement in Leimbach

The “Digi-Kafi” of the Neighborhood Help District 2 is usually well attended – the offer is free and open to the public. This time there were fewer participants than usual because of the autumn break. “As a rule, we have ten to twelve people in the tertianum. At our location in the St. Franziskus center in Wollishofen there are usually around nine people,” says Regula Galli. She is the mediator at Neighborhood Assistance District 2 and is therefore responsible for coordinating volunteer efforts. Galli: “We are very satisfied with the response so far. Only in Leimbach have only a few people come by so far.”

Many people are overwhelmed with digital devices, be it when filling out an online form or buying an SBB ticket. And the topics don’t end when you think about artificial intelligence, which is increasingly finding its way into our everyday lives.

This is where “Digi-Kafi” comes in. The goal is for everyone to be able to operate digital devices independently. Not everyone is as fit with technology as Rolf Wild or Hans-Werner Eggmann.

Thanks to the search engine giant Google as a project sponsor, ten neighborhood help organizations in the city can offer digital support in the neighborhood. The model was a project by the Schwamendingen neighborhood help group. In District 2, Google employees sometimes come by and also offer help voluntarily. This afternoon it paid off. One participant has a cell phone with the Android operating system installed – and Android belongs to Google. Ideal if a specialist is on hand right away.

By the way: If you can’t come to the “Digi-Kafi” yourself, you can book the “Digi-Tandem”. Then volunteers look at the problem directly at home.
