The transaction system for electric rail trains (KRL) is growing. Now, you can pay for KRL without a card, namely by using the Gojek application.
Then, what will happen to the future of electronic money cards?
A public policy observer from Trisakti University, Trubus Rahardiansyah, assessed that the cards for this transaction would be abandoned. Because the use of the application provides convenience for passengers.
“I see it will change. This means that the cards that have been abandoned so far use a new application, which is easier for passengers, prospective passengers, to access,” he explained to detik.comSunday (26/6/2022).
Trubus said, the digital system will provide many changes. He added that the use of the application will make it easier for passengers because they no longer need to refill the card.
“So I don’t need to fill in the debits anymore, there’s no need. Everything will be connected to the NIK, NPWP and the application,” he said.
Similarly, banking economist Chandra Bagus Sulistyo explained, the government continues to make improvements with various conveniences to the existing transaction system. He explained that the transaction system initially used cash. Later, transactions shifted to using cards and now developing using applications.
Not only for payments, he sees various activities now using the application. He considered, the use of the card in the future will be abandoned.
“Yes, I don’t use it anymore, if you look at the social assistance program now, the card has started to be shifted to using a virtual account where you don’t use the social assistance card anymore,” he explained.
