You can now fly to the US; Aeroméxico launches route to Houston, Texas – El Financiero

A little over a year after it was inaugurated, the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) will have a route to the United States. The flights will go to Texas Airport and will be operated by Aeroméxico.

This was announced by the airline at the beginning of 2023 and operations began on the route in May, which will have more or less 800 monthly arrivals and departures at AIFA.

This route will begin operations on May 1, 2023 with a daily flight in Embraer 190 equipment; the flights already scheduled to Houston from Mexico City International Airport (AICM) will continue to be served,” the airline detailed.

Aeroméxico operates eight national destinations in the AIFA: Acapulco, Cancún, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mérida, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta and Veracruz.


Viva Aerobus announces 4 new routes from AIFA; increases flights on 5 routes

Viva Aerobus will operate 4 new routes from the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), in addition to adding new frequencies to 5 of the flights it currently operates, the airline reported this Wednesday.

The new routes that will depart from the Felipe Ángeles will connect said air port with the terminals of Hermosillo, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta.

Likewise, the airline it will increase the number of flights offered in its services from the Felipe Ángeles International Airport to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca and Acapulco; and, during the summer, it will also increase the frequencies to Tijuana and Cancun.

“The first-class competitiveness, service and infrastructure offered by this new airport is giving firm results; Proof of this is the continuous growth of Viva Aerobus” said General Isidoro Pastor, General Director of AIFA in a statement released by the airline.

Viva Aerobus explained that the routes to Hermosillo, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and Mazatlán will begin on July 2; and that to Puerto Vallarta will begin on July 14. The route to Hermosillo will have four flights a week; services to Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and Mazatlán will offer three weekly flights; and the route to Puerto Vallarta will have a daily flight.
