Imagine you are sitting and driving, pretty fast. Suddenly you see nothing ahead. This is exactly what can happen if you have a Tesla Model S or Model 3. The hood, or “frunk” as it is often called in the Tesla language, can open when driving at high speed.
What actually happens is that the air intake under the hood causes this to vibrate. Which in turn can lead to cracks in the attachment to the hood lock – which can eventually give way. The result is that the hood can simply inflate and lie over the windshield.

The EU’s Rapex system (Rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products) reports this.
What it can ultimately lead to, one does not need much imagination to understand.
Tesla takes the grip. In the United States, the recall of 120,000 cars has already begun. In Europe, there are said to be around 220,000 cars affected.
