Wolfenbüttel. The travel company “Der Schmidt” is celebrating a big summer festival in collaboration with fliegen-ab-braunschweig.de on Sunday, August 25th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the SchmidtTerminal in Wolfenbüttel. The large area at Halchtersche Straße 33, near the train station, has space for thousands of people and is even covered in bad weather.
In addition to a travel fair, children’s entertainment and a wide range of food and drink options, many stars will be on the main stage to really get the audience going. Several artists with numerous “golden records” and number 1 hits will be performing.
Top acts with numerous number 1 hits
Geier Sturzflug will ensure a great atmosphere with hits such as “Gross National Product”, “Visit Europe” and “Pure Lust for Life”. Frontman Carlo von Steinfurt is a real entertainer and takes the audience on his hit journey. Markus is perhaps the lead singer for the spirit of an entire era. His super hit “I want fun” describes the attitude to life of the New German Wave of the 80s and is still one of the most played hits today. Markus, who has also appeared in numerous TV formats, naturally also plays “Little Flashlight Burn”. He also sings many other classics from that era.
“Miss California” is there
A worldwide top hit was “Miss California”. The US singer Dante Thomas, who became a star with this song, will also be performing at the Schmidt Summer Festival. The Californian creates a chill-out atmosphere with his rhythm & blues songs to groove along to. Incidentally, “Miss California” reached top chart positions not only in Europe, but also in many countries, including Australia and the USA.

Giorgio Claretti is a “local hero”. With his Italo pop hits he brings the Dolce Vita to Wolfenbüttel. This is particularly fitting, as momento by Der Schmidt is known to fly a lot to Italy from Braunschweig.
“With this free event, we simply want to say thank you. The demand for our trips is many times higher than it was just a short time ago. We are growing enormously and it is certainly the right time to give something back to our customers and our team,” say managing directors Philipp Cantauw and Georg Schmidt.
New flights from Waggum
The new flights from Braunschweig will also be presented. The largest program of all time with many popular destinations and new top offers, such as direct flights from Braunschweig to Barcelona for 2025, will be presented. There are many other offers and special trips at the travel fair that can also be booked on site.
There are a wide range of options for children, and more than a dozen different food and drink stands ensure that children are well looked after. A special highlight is the German national team’s bus, which can be seen up close in the terminal on this day.
Parking spaces are available in the surrounding area. It is easy to get there by public transport or bicycle.
